I ended my last post by saying that I promise, promise, promise to finish the story of our Christmas within a few days. Now I'm forced to apologize with an equal number of "sorrys". I don't like breaking promises and I almost never say I'm sorry, but I'm afraid that something happened that I couldn't have anticipated. Readers may remember that Patsy was unable to be around for our Christmas competition because she (and her family) felt that her father was quite frail and this might be his last Christmas. Well, she spent Christmas with her family, came home again, and just yesterday her father actually did pass away. She was very broken up over it and asked me to go with her to attend the funeral. I, of course, agreed and Vanessa is coming along as well. We're flying out tomorrow and will be gone for 3 days or more if need be.
Thus my apologies to my readers for not finishing the Christmas posting quickly, but I will once again promise to finish it as soon as I return. It's going to be a fairly long and complicated posting, and I want to write it when I have the time to give it its due. Once again, sorry for the delay, but I'm afraid it can't be helped. I'll be back soon.

No need to apologize, Lady Grey and thank you for letting us know.
ReplyDeleteI do hope you are able to provide Patsy some comfort.
Take care.
Thank you, fur. I'm back now and trying to relax and put words to paper toward finishing the Christmas posts. I'm a bit wrought up after the funeral, so it's taking me a bit longer than I expected. Hopefully, the muse will arrive shortly!
DeleteJust wanted to say that I am sorry for your friend Patsy's loss and I wish you all the best.
ReplyDeleteIt is really very sweet of you to be so apologetic to your readers.
Thank you
I do hate not being able to respond quickly to comments, or to finish something I've started. Now that I'm home, I plan to rectify those situations. Thank you for commenting.
DeleteI am sorry for Patsy's loss. I understand you taking much needed time.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Miss Lily. It's good to hear from you.
DeleteWhat a sweetheart you are (among other beautiful and devious qualities)
ReplyDeleteNo need to apologize!

Thank you Explorer! Devious? Whatever do you mean?

DeleteSorry for Patsy's loss. We always feel that our fathers are larger than life and they will always be there. I lost my father in 2015 and still miss him. God Bless you for being there for your friend. Support her and hug her as she will need it. Firefighter Steve
ReplyDeleteThank you, Steve. Yes, it's vital to offer support when someone you care about loses a loved one. Patsy is a good friend, and Vanessa and I were glad to help in any way we could. Many hugs along the way.
Deleteso sweet.
