I'm not sure just what it is about planning a slave competition that leads to unexpected - and disappointing - results for me. In my last post I wrote about my plan (and Vanessa's) to have our "slaves" face off against each other in a series of competitions during Christmas to celebrate the visit of our old friend Clarice. She arrived by plane on Friday just before Christmas, and Vanessa and I met her at the airport. She looked great, all tanned and healthy and even more muscular than when she'd left. The body building years in California had obviously been kind to her.
We went back to my house where Karl met us at the door, naked and on his knees, and with the proper foot kissing greeting he's been trained to do. Clarice teased him with a big "So glad to see you again, Karl. I've been waiting to conduct some unfinished business with you" greeting. This referred to an earlier time when she'd told Karl that she was looking forward to having some "alone" time with him, which Karl was terrified might happen some day. For Karl, Clarice was the bogeyman personified.
At any rate, Karl acted as bartender and server for the rest of the evening as we ladies gabbed and talked about old times, acting as a footstool in between fetching drinks and munchies from the kitchen, and pretty much ignored otherwise. We also solidified plans for our slave competition between Karl and Vanessa's relatively new sub which was planned for Christmas day. Vanessa's sub was named David and had been under her "tutelage" for only a few months. He was much younger than Karl - about half his age - and I'd seen him only a few times at Vanessa's house while he was being trained. He was not a live-in sub - at least not yet - but had an apartment nearby and served Vanessa pretty much every day despite having a job of his own. Vanessa was very pleased at his progress and very excited about the upcoming competition.
So far so good, right? Patsy, who couldn't be there on Christmas, had sent over some elf costumes, complete with red pointy caps and red pointy slippers, and a variety of bows with which to festoon our subs. We were all very excited at the prospects for Christmas day - well, maybe not including Karl - and the evening ended on a high note.
The trouble started on Saturday. Vanessa chose that day to break the news to David about what was to occur on Sunday, including the competition, and David was not at all happy. He is a somewhat frail young man, and expressed concern about going up against Karl. Vanessa had described Karl to him, and that was evidently a big mistake, as Karl is tall and well built, a bit on the stocky side, but muscular and in very good shape. Vanessa told David that he'd have the advantage of being younger and probably quicker, etc., etc., but David wasn't convinced. Vanessa told him that his opinion wasn't important to her, that he was her sub and that he was to follow her instructions without hesitation. He did a lot of "Yes, Mistress", "sorry Mistress", "as you command, Mistress" stuff and agreed to be at Vanessa's house early on Sunday when she would drive him over to my house.
Well, as you've probably guessed by now, David never showed up the next day. A furious Vanessa tried to reach him by phone, but he didn't answer, and when she drove over to his apartment, he either wasn't home or didn't feel like answering her knocks. Red faced with fury, Vanessa came over to my house and explained what had happened, and the entire day's plans - which included parts of competitions suggestions by my commenters - was now in disarray. Once again, as in years before, our competition plans had been shattered, this time by a reluctant sub.
I have to stop now, but I'll get back with what actually transpired on Christmas day as soon as I can. My apologies for disappointing those who sent over competition suggestions by way of comments, and I hope that some day I'll be able to actually manage to pull off the long awaited "slave competition".

Wow! I can't imagine how disappointed you ladies were with this chain of events. Also, I can't help but wonder how this will affect Vanessa's relationship with her new sub--and after it had been working out so nicely!
ReplyDeleteG.M.
Yes, we were not happy. Vanessa least of all, as she was also embarrassed by the failure of her sub to show up. I'll write more about the fallout for her sub David as it progresses.
DeleteThat is unfortunate that things didn't pan out again, Lady Grey.
ReplyDeleteIs there any chance you could let us know what events were planned for the contest?
Take care.
I will let you know what was planned in my next posting, fur, as well as what we actually did as a substitute. A little creativity comes in handy:)
DeleteThank you, Lady Grey.
DeleteI would add that I'm severely disappointed in David. If the fear was crushing him too much I'd have to believe he was better off admitting to that rather than just vanishing. I never understand why people think it's a better choice to go dark than deal with it in ANY other way.
If I was in his shoes I'm sure I would have been terrified as well, but early in a relationship that sort of thing will set a precedent in how well someone can deal with emotionally stressful situations... and it isn't a good one.
Yes, a very bad precedent. Evidently Vanessa misgauged the level of obedience that David had reached, and had failed to earn the trust needed from a true sub. When David chose not to show up at the last minute or even speak to Vanessa about the situation, he acted in an unforgivable manner. A mess all around.
DeleteHow come Vanessa wanted to force her sub into this ? she should have talked with him like adults do, not try to bully him the way she did, this is not how loving people behave, he must have felt that she doesn't care about his feelings at all, how can he trust or give himself to a woman who treats him like this ?

Vanessa made several mistakes here, I agree, but David's act was way out of line. Putting one's Dom in an embarrassing situation is simply not allowed. I'm afraid that the whole situation was mishandled from both sides.
DeleteI’m sorry to hear that your plans failed Lady Grey. I think we were all really anxious and excited to finally find out what a slave competition organised by all of you looked liked.
ReplyDeleteI can’t help but feel that the communication to Vanessa’s sub of the events that were to occur were mishandled. I know Vanessa is strict, but I can’t help but feel that leaving it to the day prior to the event to tell your sub is a somewhat poor decision. It leaves incredibly little time to discuss things with your submissive.
I know Vanessa is stern, and likely has trained David very sternly, but blankly insisting on it happening without addressing David’s fears and concerns and assuring him that everything would be ok and enacted within his limitations.
All in all, I can’t speak too much for how the situation was handled as I was not there and know nothing about Vanessa’s and David’s relationship, but these are a couple of my thoughts on the matter

I completely agree, Odie. However, Vanessa is Vanessa and she does things her own way. I would have handled it differently, but I happen to love my sub husband and have earned his complete trust, and perhaps that's where the difference lies.
DeleteLady Grey,
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry that your plans did not work out. You were so looking forward to it so I hope that you and your guests were able to get past the disappointment and enjoy the day and time with each other.
For a new sub, serving your Mistress in front of others and being in a competition can be very anxiety provoking if not prepared correctly. Given the short length of time that Mistress Vanessa and her sub were together it appears that he was not prepared to advance their relationship in this manner and at that time. Clearly there was a failure in communication with the sub unable to share his true feelings and Mistress Vanessa not recognizing where he was in their relationship. Non-the-less, this is no excuse for how he responded as it showed little respect for Mistress Vanessa. This is an opportunity for growth in the relationship.
I hope that you will be able to share how Mistress Vanessa responds to where this leads their relationship.
We still had a good time - just much different than planned.
ReplyDeleteYes, the consensus seems to be that Vanessa messed things up to begin with and David compounded the error, and I can't argue with that very much. Vanessa's ultimate response to David's "no show" is still being worked out, and I will talk about that in my next post.
I had been looking forward to reading some of your posts. I dont know how I missed them! I hate to hear that David was upset by the idea enough to surprise his Mistress and not show up.
